Counselling is such a personal experience it really depends on what you want to achieve, your budget and also how deep rooted the issues you are facing are.
For some 6-12 sessions can be all it takes but for others much longer term work is needed.
It's important to remember that Therapy is not a quick fix. It takes a willingness to change plus an open heart and mind.
A first session might feel daunting, feeling nervous or anxious is understandable but ill do my best to put you at ease to help you feel comfortable, there maybe more questions than usual in the first session(s) whilst we work together to figure out what you want to focus on and the outcome you hope to achieve.
At times you may leave a session feeling lighter having shared something you haven't spoken about before but at other times things might feel a bit worse before they get better. There is no right or wrong way to feel. It's a very personal experience, unique to every individual.
